The University of Twente is offering financial aid to students that are applying for the Master of Science (MSc) program offered at the University of Twente for the academic year 2024.

Who is eligible to apply for this scholarship?

  • Students that are not Dutch citizens
  • Students that are not currently a University of Twente student
  • Students that complete all of the requirements for the Master of Science (MSc) program application at the University of Twente
  • Students that have not or never completed an undergraduate degree at the University of Twente
  • Students with English language proficiency proven by IELTS (minimum of 6.5 with minimum 6.0 score on the speaking skills) or TOEFL iBT score (minimum 90 with minimum 20 on the speaking skills)

What degrees are offered in this scholarship?

The scholarship is offered for all Master’s degree courses except the pre-master program and the master’s program offered at the Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC).

What are the scholarship benefits?

  • Tuition fee
  • Living allowance

How long is the duration of scholarship?

  • The scholarship will be given for one year
  • If the scholarship awardee show satisfaction in term of academic achievement (average grade of 7 out of 10) and behavior in the first year third quartile of study, the scholarship will be given for two years

How to apply?

  • Apply for the University of Twente Master of Science (MSc) two-year program for the academic year 2024.
  • If the applicants have completed all of the application requirements and fit in all of the scholarship applications eligibility, the applicants will receive a student number
  • Apply for the University of Twente Scholarship (UTS) in a different application form using the student number
  • Wait for the admission results, admission status are usually announced around 8 weeks after the admission process completed

How does the process of selection go?

  • The selection process will differ depending on the course program chosen
  • The selection process will be done by the University and the scholarship admission team
  • The applicants that receive the scholarship must have been admitted to one of the Master of Science (MSc) programs at the University of Twente for the academic year 2024.

How many students will be chosen to receive the scholarship?

The scholarship will be given to approximately 50 students for every academic year.

When is the deadline for application?

  • First round of applications will be closed on 1 February 2024, the second round of applications will be opened at the same time
  • The second round of applications will be closed on 1 May 2024
  • The applicants that are rejected in the first round of selection are not allowed to apply for the second round of applications

Additional Information

  • Tuition fee will be included in the annual living expenses given, the scholarship will not be responsible for the tuition payment
  • Chosen applicants will receive opportunities to be accepted for one of the three honors programs
