Barcelona reach agreement with Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski
In order to sign Robert Lewandowski, a striker from Poland, Barcelona and Bayern Munich have reached a “deal in principle.”
The 33-year-old informed Bayern last month that he wants to quit the German champions with one year remaining on his contract.
In 46 games last season, Lewandowski scored 50 goals, helping Bayern win the Bundesliga for the tenth consecutive year.
According to Barca, the agreement is “subject to the player passing a medical exam and contracts being signed.”
In making the initial announcement of the deal on Saturday, Bayern president Herbert Hainer remarked, “It’s excellent to have clarification for all parties.
“With Barcelona, we have reached a verbal understanding.
Robert is a fantastic player, and he helped us win everything. He has our sincere gratitude.
