Investments and human capital can’t flourish in a politically volatile environment – Sam Okudzeto

Mr Sam Okudzeto is also a private legal practitioner

Council of State member, Mr Sam Okudzeto has indicated that it requires a collective effort to safeguard investments and human capital in Africa and for that matter in Ghana.

Delivering a speech at the New Year School at the University of Ghana, Legon on Tuesday January 17, he indicated that investments and human capital cannot flourish in a politically volatile environment.

“Facilitating and deepening security intelligence now, before, and after must become our collective and share experiences to safeguard investments for the sustainability and the future of African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) as well as the development of the continent and our dear mother Ghana,” he said.

To that end, he added “The introduction of the youth school concept is so essential for this purpose.

“Our focus for the development of the next generation of future leaders is remarkable and visionary so we are laying a sound foundation for the sustainable economic development of our beloved motherland Ghana.”

At the same event, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia said that all senior High School (SHS) students are going to be given free laptops this year.

These tables, he said are loaded with textbooks on them for their studies.

This is a game-changing development, he said.

“This year, we are on course to provide all Senior High School students in Ghana with tablets which are loaded with textbooks on them for their studies.

“That’s a very game-changing development. We will have past questions preloaded on these tablets that will be distributed,” he said.
