Stop disrespecting Atta Mills’ tomb – Family warns gov’t
The Asomdwe Park, where the late President is interred, is being renovated by the Atta Mills Institute, under the direction of Mr. Anyidoho, with assistance from the government via the Coastal Development Authority.
Samuel Atta Mills, the late President’s brother, asked why the government did not contact the family before starting the project when speaking to the media in Parliament.
He pleaded with the authorities to prevent Koku Anyidoho from desecrating the late president John Evans Atta Mills’ final resting site right away.
This is an insult to the Akans, the family, the country, and the world at large. President Atta Mills is not the only Ghanaian president to have died; other presidents have also passed away. Currently, the government permits an NGO to run Asomdwee Park.
“We want to know where President John Atta Mills’ body is; it’s a very serious matter, but the government must produce the body. When curses begin to follow you, don’t point the finger at anyone, Mr. Atta Mills told the media on Tuesday. “What have you done with it, what kind of rituals did you perform over there,” he said.
When visiting the grave on Tuesday with a few MPs, former youth and sports minister Nii Lantey Vanderpuye voiced her regret over the situation and displayed images of the grave with its tomb removed.
